It was well worth the wait when Michael Ketterer returned to America’s Got Talent. You may remember that Michael was the Season 13 AGT contestant who got the second Golden Buzzer.
Michael is a mental health professional for kids and a foster parent to six children. Just for that, why shouldn’t the United States welcome him?
Michael is an honest guy who also happens to have amazing vocal range. His audition was so impressive that Simon Cowell immediately dispatched him to Hollywood.
The Golden Buzzer allowed Michael to skip the Judges’ Cut round, where contestants were removed based on the judges’ ratings, and go straight to the live shows.
Before he could sing again on The Voice, Simon gushed about how great he was. When it came to Michael, Simon was gushing.
He’s fantastic, a great singer, and a nice person. I couldn’t be happier about this. As of right now, I am ecstatic. ‘I really, really am!’
For his second performance on America’s Got Talent, Michael sang ’Us’ by James Bay. The song is really dramatic, and Michael’s voice seems to have only added to that.
When Michael finished singing, the entire audience and the four judges stood to praise him.
Before asking anyone else, Tyra Banks sought out Simon Cowell’s opinion, but the judge was too affected to participate.
Instead than letting them get away from him, Tyra grabbed upon them. She prodded Simon to share his feelings.
Astonishedly, Michael exclaimed, ‘Oh my god, look!’ I can’t even fathom doing what you’ve done, much less being on this program,
and therefore I completely understand why you feel that way. And you’re a one-of-a-kind who needs it badly. There’s just something weird about you!
Even though Simon has a reputation for being strong, Tyra commended him for showing his vulnerable
side in front of the live crowd and viewers at home. Becoming a dad has brought out a softer side of Simon.Mel B frantically scribbled on her papers as she tried not to cry.
You are a fantastic person, an exceptional human being, for taking in and giving life to all of these children through adoption.
And then there’s the sincerity and honesty in the way your voice sings. As soon as you started talking, I started crying.
Heidi Klum’s reply was profound in its seeming simplicity. In her words:It’s important to have more males like you.
