When, in 2012, 17-year-old Willie Jones from Louisiana took the stage for an audition, all the judges began to laugh,
but it did not last long, because they were taken by surprise by the amazing voice of a young man.
Not only was the audience in the studio shocked, even the judges didn’t understand what was going on.
Jones just started doing an amazing country song. Jones was able to sing the song with the perfect southern
sound and tone. LThe judges could not believe what they heard and were perplexed while Jones sang on stage.
They exchanged incredulous looks as he continued to amaze the audience with his beautiful voice. They knew that the young man must definitely go to the next round!
Simon Cowell is well known for telling it like it is. He doesn’t hold back when he talks to the members,
even when his words are unpleasant to hear. However, he really liked the voice he heard and was ready to tell Jones the whole truth.
‘You exceeded my expectations, you surprised me,’ Simon said. ‘I think your voice is a sensation and I want to remember this day as the day I first heard Willie Jones.’
Jones currently lives in Shreveport, which he is very proud of, but often travels to Los Angeles to record music and work with producers.
