The tremendously gifted and hitherto undiscovered singers, dancers, acrobats, and performers of a wide variety of other arts have made their way into the homes of millions of people thanks to the television show America’s Got Talent. Throughout the course of the show’s run, there have been acts that have been dazzling and gorgeous, as well as acts that weren’t quite as good. There have also been intense times in which either the competitor or one of the judges has gotten emotional and choked up.

According to NBC, Nightbirde, a former American Idol competitor who had been battling cancer for four years, lost her battle with the disease in early 2022. The breathtaking singing and dance routine performed by the Mzansi Youth Choir is not only noteworthy for reducing Simon to tears, but it also came with another first.
The audience awarded the very first Golden Buzzer to the choir for their performance. Immediately following the performance, every member of the audience leapt to their feet and began loudly applauding the talented trio. The audience once again got to their feet and started chanting ‘Golden Buzzer, Golden Buzzer’ while the judges were giving their assessments on the group performance. Following their discussion, Simon, Heidi Klum, and the other judges all pressed the Golden Buzzer at the same time on behalf of the studio audience. When the confetti started to fall on stage, it was a magnificent moment as it landed on the members of the Mzansi Youth Choir.
They were so overtaken with feeling that tears began streaming down their faces. Several of them were affected.
