Talk about a dream come true! To be able to sing with your idol is something most of us think of and daydream about, hoping, wishing, praying that maybe one day it could happen to us. This is something out of a fairy tale, but it did, in fact, become a reality for one fortunate little girl. And that’s all that 12-year-old Victoria Anthony wanted when she found out her favorite singer was coming to town.
Victoria knew she had to get the singer’s attention, in fact, she manifested this all on her own! In the weeks leading up to the concert in Vancouver, Canada, Victoria blasted her social media with the high hopes of getting the singer to notice her. She created the hashtag #VicAndPink and posted videos and photos begging the superstar for the chance to sing together.
Victoria was persistent and fearless in her pursuit to get closer to Pink, even singing “What About Us” at her school’s talent show and appearing on the news to send out her message.
And it paid off. In the middle of Pink’s show, she paused to find Victoria in the crowd and ask if she was the one she read about in the news. Shaking in her shoes, Victoria knew this was the moment she had been waiting for as Pink jumped off stage and made her way to the young girl. The little one sang “Perfect” and blew everyone away, even Pink herself who said, “Well, I’m not singing that song anymore!” Dreams really do come true!
