Custom homes made from recycled materials, energy-efficient homes, and low-cost micro-homes are quickly gaining popularity.
But this story is different. Just look at this house and you will understand everything. The fact is that the area of this beautiful house is only 16 m², and there lives a family of 3 people and even a dog.
It may seem to someone that it is impossible to organize normal human conditions with a space like a house. But don’t jump to conclusions until you’ve looked inside.
This micro house has everything: bathroom, kitchen, living room, bedroom, balcony and even a small pantry.
The house has a lot to surprise. Personally, I am a big fan of such economic accommodations, but the question is: why did this family make a decision and agree to such conditions?
The Oskirko family from Belarus started building a house for themselves and their children near Minsk. During the construction,
they lived in a rented apartment in the city, which cost them a lot of money. And every time to get from the city to the suburbs, the family had to spend a lot on gasoline.
And so they decided to build a small temporary house…
The new house cost them $4,600, and now the family is saving $500 a month compared to the cost of renting an apartment.
At the same time, it is worth considering that the amount of payment for utilities is simply ridiculous.
The family is not ashamed of the small square, they feel quite comfortable in the new walls.
‘None of us suffers from claustrophobia. Yes, it’s not very comfortable with us if you look. In the evening, the light of the living room hardly penetrates the upper level.
Someone can work and someone can relax. The inflow of clean air is provided by two ventilation pipes in the bathroom and in the kitchen.
If it is necessary to thoroughly ventilate, it is enough to open the door for only half a minute.
Ideally, such a house would be suitable for a single person or a couple. It’s more difficult with a child.
But everyone understands that it is a temporary option for us. Let’s build a big house, we’ll move there. There is not much left to do,’ says Victor Oskirko, the head of the family.
If everything suits them, all that remains is to be happy for the determined Belarusian family.
